July 18th, 2026 - Deleting & Adding Highlights

You can now add highlights manually. Not every quote comes from an import — sometimes you're reading a physical book, or you just want to jot something down. AfterWord now supports typing in a highlight directly, with the same book-matching and search treatment as anything imported from Kindle, Libby, or KOReader.

You can also add books manually, without waiting on an import. Starting something new and want to capture it as you go, or just adding a book you already know you'll be highlighting? You can create it directly and start attaching highlights right away.

Alongside this, you can now delete books and highlights from your library. Made a mistake during import, added something by accident, or just want to clean things up? You're no longer stuck with it — books and highlights can both be removed cleanly, whenever you want.
